I have a business idea! Where do I start?

We're here to help you turn that idea into reality. Start by sharing your vision with us through our contact form, and we'll connect you with the right program or support based on where you're at - whether you're just starting to think about your business or you're ready to develop a full plan.

Do I need a business plan to work with EntrepreNorth?

Not at all. We support entrepreneurs at every stage, from "I have an idea" to "I'm ready to grow my established business." If you don't have a business plan yet, we can help you create one through our workshops and mentorship programs.

I missed the registration deadline for a workshop, can I still join?

We know life gets busy, and sometimes deadlines slip by. If a workshop is full or registration has closed, reach out to us anyway. We keep a waitlist in case spots open up, and we can also let you know when the next session is scheduled.

What programs and trainings does EntrepreNorth currently offer?

We offer a range of free workshops and programs designed specifically for Northern Indigenous entrepreneurs, including:

Will workshops be recorded? Can I access them if I can't attend live?

Our workshops aren't recorded, but we're building an e-learning library that will offer resources and materials you can access on your own time. That's still in development, but in the meantime, reach out if you have scheduling conflicts - we'll do our best to connect you with upcoming sessions that work better for you.

What is the Indigenous Facilitator Training program, and where is it offered?

The Indigenous Facilitators Training program is for entrepreneurs interested in becoming contract facilitators for our in-person and virtual programming. If you're interested in learning more or applying, email our Director of Programming and Innovation: Dave@entreprenorth.ca

What funding is available for starting or growing my business?

As an EntrepreNorth program participant you are eligible to receive bursary support. We also offer childcare and connectivity support, along with per diems if you're traveling to attend programming.

Participants in our Entrepreneur Growth Program also receive a wellness budget.

Do you fund cultural or ceremonial projects?

Participants in the Entrepreneur Growth Program receive a wellness budget to cover expenses associated with cultural, healing, and personal growth activities.

Do you collaborate with other entrepreneurship programs or funders?

Absolutely. We work with First Nations development corporations, government programs, educational institutions, and other organizations to create more opportunities for the entrepreneurs we serve.

How do I become a vendor at your events and gatherings?

If you offer catering, event services, cultural programming, or other services in the North that support our gatherings, we'd love to hear from you. Reach out through our contact form and let us know what you do.

How do I find out about upcoming events and gatherings?

Follow us on Instagram (@entreprenorth) and Facebook for announcements about workshops, gatherings, and community events. We post details including dates, locations, and how to register. You can also sign up for our newsletter to stay in the loop.

I need help with business licenses and legal setup. Do you offer that support?

While we would love to support every entrepreneur’s specific needs, EntrepreNorth does not currently have the capacity to offer one-off assistance with legal advice, business licensing, or funding proposals. To ensure we provide the highest quality support across the North, our small team focuses our resources on our core educational programming.

We are, however, actively working to bridge this gap by expanding into eLearning options. These upcoming digital resources are designed to provide self-paced guidance on many of these foundational business topics, allowing us to empower more entrepreneurs with the tools they need to navigate these challenges independently.
